Crescent & I (con't)

When I was seventeen, I read "Thick-coming Fancies" (HY #17). The physical appearance of the daughter was so much like the identity lurking in my memory, that it was a quite a shock. This was also the first mention that the writers had really intended for her to have had a daughter. It was an eerie moment for me. If you have a copy of HY #18, you will see my letter in the back. Because of this letter, I made many new friends, who I am close to today. The appearance of Crescent sparked my creative energies, and for the first time I began to be able draw elves without tracing or copying. Picture after picture of Crescent accumulated, and gradually she became more and more "my" character. I tended to color her hair paler than it probably is, because that is the color of my own hair. The pictures my arwork page are nearly all of the finished drawings that I drew of Crescent, up until she reappeared in ElfQuest #23.

However, my story doesn't end there.

In my stories, Crescent's first wolf was Nighthowl (named after the stuffed wolf I'd had since childhood), but her current, and important, wolf was Windrunner (another name for my stuffed wolf). When I read #23, I saw that her wolf was "Windchaser". Hmmmm...eerie, huh? But let me back up a bit.
